The Senior Strategic Account Manager leads the development, coordination, and execution of strategic advertising campaigns that support national and key client revenue objectives. This role partners closely with sales, marketing, product, and client services teams to design integrated digital solutions, ensure successful campaign execution, and maintain high-value client relationships. The position serves as a senior subject matter expert on the company's digital advertising portfolio and guides account management team members to drive revenue growth, client satisfaction, and operational excellence.


Responsibilties:



  • Partner with national and select local sales teams to develop strategic digital proposals and campaign solutions that align with advertiser objectives and support revenue growth across the company's advertising platforms.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the company's digital advertising portfolio, recommending products, targeting strategies, and campaign tactics that maximize performance and deliver measurable client outcomes.
  • Collaborate with sales strategists and cross-functional teams to develop competitive responses to RFPs, ensuring proposals include accurate pricing, approved products, and available inventory.
  • Lead post-sale campaign coordination and act as the primary point of contact for campaign execution, ensuring seamless communication between internal teams and external clients.
  • Coordinate campaign kick-off meetings and manage the end-to-end fulfillment process, including asset collection, creative approvals, campaign setup, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor campaign performance and delivery to ensure full execution of contracted programs, proactively addressing issues and coordinating solutions with operations, product, and client services teams.
  • Manage insertion orders, billing information, and campaign documentation using the company's advertising systems and tools to ensure operational accuracy and timely processing.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with national and select local clients, providing proactive communication, campaign updates, and strategic recommendations to support retention and revenue growth.
  • Provide mentorship, guidance, and onboarding support to Account Managers and other sales support team members, contributing to the development of team capabilities and best practices.
  • Participate in digital product development initiatives and process improvements that enhance campaign delivery, operational efficiency, and the company's overall advertising capabilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, communications, business, or a related field and 3+ years of experience in digital advertising, media planning, account management, or campaign management within a publisher, media company, or digital advertising agency environment OR 6+ years of experience in digital advertising, media planning, account management, or campaign management within a publisher, media company, or digital advertising agency environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing digital advertising campaigns and collaborating with sales teams on proposal development and campaign execution.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for campaign analysis, reporting, and presentation development.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, and related collaboration tools).
  • Experience working directly with clients and cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously and prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly present campaign recommendations, updates, and performance insights.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience supporting national advertising accounts or complex multi-channel digital campaigns.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising technologies, including programmatic advertising, audience targeting, and campaign performance analytics.
  • Familiarity with podcast production workflows and episode trafficking across multiple distribution platforms.
  • Experience working with Zoho or similar CRM, order management, or campaign management systems.

The pay scale the Company reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of the posting is $80,000 to $90,000 and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, experience, training, licenses, certifications, and other business or organizational needs. Compensation will be determined based on the above factors along with the requirements of the position. At the L.A. Times Studios, LLC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
