Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Jr Mechanical Engineer, supporting Air Force Test Operations, at White Sands near Alamogordo, New Mexico.

Open to internal and external candidates. The selected candidate for this requisition must be available to work any shift.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will design, develop, implement, and maintain mechanical systems, ensuring efficiency, safety, and reliability.

Job Duties:

Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs radar and positioning systems.
• Performs preventive maintenance inspections on equipment and to determine what maintenance is needed.
• Research and order replacement components and spare parts for radar and position control system.
• Utilizes safe rigging and lifting techniques.
• Set up and test various types of mechanical equipment to determine equipment specifications and performance.
• Recommend improvements to maintenance methods, system and equipment performance as well as operational efficiencies.
• Analyzes work problems and recommends solutions.
• Trains and mentors technicians
• It is a condition of employment to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in accordance with supervisory direction and company policy.
• Perform other duties as required.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering or similar degree and 0-4 years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Current U. S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong computer knowledge of Mathcad; Excel; Pro Engineer, specifically Creo Elements and Structure; and AutoCAD.
• Experience in model making and/or fiberglass/composite design.
• Working knowledge of documentation and configuration control.
• Experience in and the ability to direct personnel in fabrication techniques, welding principles and integration of designs.
• Excellent abilities regarding project/job management with experience in the procurement, cost, and budget process.

Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations and refers to the amount BNH is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time jobs will be adjusted based upon the number of hours agreed to work.
