Department:Natural Resources Management Office Organizational Unit:ENVIRONMENTAL RESOURCES MANAGEMENT Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time Open Until Filled. $2,022.03 to $2,224.23 bi-weekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Government Center/Viera. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Performs entry-level professional work assisting in the Environmental Resources Management section of Natural Resources. The primary functions of this position involve regulatory review, permitting, and enforcement of applicable environmental ordinances. This role is responsible for conducting building permit reviews and ensuring environmental regulations are appropriately applied to permits and associated projects. Work includes frequent interaction with the public. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in an Environmental, a Physical, or a Natural Science related to the area of assignment, including; Ecology and Wetland Ecology, Biology, Environmental Science, Zoology, Marine Science, Resource Management, Marine Biology, Botany, Geology, Natural Resources, Hydrology and Hydrogeology, Conservation Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Planning, Coastal Zone Management, or Environmental Engineering. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must complete all of the Brevard County Mandatory Training for the Development of New Employees classes within nine (9) months of employment.
