About the Opportunity

The Distribution Center Manager is responsible for managing a team of shipping and receiving professionals and for overseeing the material flow of inbound and outbound finished goods, raw materials, and capital equipment within the Distribution Center. Contributes to strategy formulation by providing feedback about department operations to the management team and ensures the successful implementation of various operational decisions. Manages the day-to-day operational activities, including receiving, organizing, storing, material handling, and shipping, in alignment with Argen's quality standards.

In this role, the successful candidate:

  • Manages day-to-day warehouse operational activities, including receiving, organizing, storing, material handling, and shipping, while upholding Argen's quality standards.
  • Supervises and supports shipping and receiving professionals, including hiring, training, motivating, and proactively managing performance.
  • Oversees the material flow of inbound and outbound finished goods, raw materials, and capital equipment within the distribution center.
  • Contributes to strategy formulation by providing valuable feedback about department operations to the management team.
  • Ensures successful implementation of various operational decisions to optimize efficiency and productivity.
  • Addresses technical and administrative issues as they arise, seeking solutions to maintain smooth distribution center operations.
  • Stays updated on industry trends and advancements, incorporating relevant knowledge into distribution center management practices.
  • Executes special tasks and projects as directed by the management team to support overall business objectives.
  • Ensures safe use of warehouse equipment and adherence to business processes.
  • Establishes warehouse business processes and work instructions to achieve efficiency.
  • Ensures product safety through development, review, and enforcement of company policies.
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, federal and corporate regulatory standards.
  • Collaborates with the Quality department to update Quality Management Systems and confirms that all processes adhere to quality standards.
  • Maintains and promotes internal work instructions and provides monthly reporting on metrics to support continuous improvement programs
  • Assists the department in maintaining an audit-ready state including performing and documenting internal audits.
  • Participates in regulatory and internal audits and performs necessary follow-up, including implementing CAPA's.
  • Motivates and coaches employees by assessing employee performance; providing meaningful feedback verbally and in writing; and formal and on-the-job training opportunities.
  • Delegates tasks and manages progress to ensure successful completion of department objectives.
  • Creates and reinforces a positive culture of teamwork and proactively resolves conflicts within the team.
  • Manages team proactively by holding regular 1on1s and team meetings to ensure open lines of communication and professional development for direct reports.
  • Maintains various process metrics to analyze productivity in support of business growth objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What does it take to be successful?

  • Bachelor Degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a similar field and 7 years of progressive supply chain experience including 5 years managing a team; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong experience with ERP systems, QAD preferred.
  • Solid judgement and critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Professional work ethic, self-awareness, and receptiveness to feedback.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to learn technical concepts by reading work instructions and standard operating procedures and completing on-the-job training.
  • Knowledge of cGMP regulations ISO 13485, 21CFR Part 820, CMDR SOR/98-282, 93/42/EEC, RDC 16 2013, MHLW MO 169 and TG(MD)R Sch3 preferred.
