In addition to distributing sports, entertainment and syndicated content, our television stations collectively produce approximately 1,200 hours of local news every week. DIGITAL CONTENT CREATOR

We're hiring a Digital Content Creator to create and optimize content for Fox13-WTVT in our Tampa Bay newsroom.

  • In this role, you will publish stories, videos, live streams, push alerts, and social content to engage local users across digital platforms.
  • Show us your best work! We're looking for creative, experienced storytellers with ideas and a passion for news.

Reporting to the Digital Content Director, the Digital Content Creator will be laser-focused on quickly writing, producing and efficiently sharing compelling, easy-to-consume stories and information with digital and social users -- and doing it better than anyone else.

Responsibilities

Write and produce compelling, consumer-focused content related to news, events and topics relevant to local users and beyond, including text stories, videos, live streaming content, photos/graphics, breaking news, and social media elements. Engage and build loyalty among communities. Optimize content for search engine optimization (SEO). Serve as liaison to newsroom, ensuring digital and social dominance. Reach and engage users on mobile and smart TV apps, Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok and beyond. Work with Group Content Team and other FTS markets to distribute high-interest stories at scale. Follow group standards. Monitor real-time analytics. Other duties as deemed necessary and assigned.

Requirements

Experience developing and publishing content, including news, on digital and social platforms. BA/BS degree a plus, preferably in Journalism, Communications or related field with emphasis on digital publishing. Excellent writer and storyteller. Superior news judgement. Impeccable writing and copy-editing skills. Overwhelming attention to detail. Thrive under deadline pressure. Stellar communication skills. Social media expert. Proficient in content management systems, search engine optimization (SEO), video publishing, live streaming, OTT apps, and digital analytics tools. Video and photo editing experience (Adobe products a plus).

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $58,000.00-61,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
