JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Physical and Mathematical Sciences Library seeks a customer service-oriented individual to provide assistance at the reference and circulation desk, starting Spring 2026 semester. Responsibilities include: providing service to library users; performing circulation transactions; opening and/or closing the library; assisting in the location of materials in the stacks, course reserves, reference, and online collections; shelving library materials, shelf-reading and maintaining collections; answering general information and basic reference questions; other clerical, technological, and problem-solving activities and projects as assigned by (or in absence of) full-time staff. Preferred: work experience in a public service setting (library customer service especially preferred, but not required).
