The Hospitalist Service at Yale New Haven Hospital is actively seeking APRNs or PAs to join their inaugural Hospitalist APP Residency Program!

Hospitalist APP residents will be held to the same clinical and academic standards as their non-resident APP colleagues. The residency is a 1-year program which is composed of both clinical and didactic education. The didactic curriculum will consist of core clinical, specialty and procedure-based didactics, as well as APP professional practice and development. APP residents will be expected to attend weekly didactic conferences. Residents will also participate in a variety of didactic offerings, medicine teaching conferences, grand rounds and procedures. Clinical rotations will consist of 12 internal medicine, subspecialty electives, admissions and internal med consults. The APP resident will take medical histories, perform physical examinations, perform specified procedures, and develop patient treatment plans in collaboration with the attending physician. The APP resident will work with a preceptor primarily in YSC and SRC on Hospitalist Service. The primary function of Advanced Practice Provider (APP) resident is to master how to provide comprehensive care to medicine inpatients in collaboration with attending physicians and under the direction of the APP Manager(s) and preceptors. Each APP has a designated supervising/collaborating physician. At the end of the program, the APP will receive a certificate of completion.
