Ammunition Specialist III

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in managing timely provision of Ammunition and Explosives (A&E) logistical support services - receipt, storage, issue, inventory accountability, explosive safety risks monitoring and mitigation, storage facilities use, physical security, preparation for demilitarization, preparation for shipping, and transport of A&E - that are fully compliant with applicable governing policies, regulations, rules, and procedures - importantly including but not limited to Army Regulation (AR) 190-11, Physical Security of Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives; and, Department of Army Pamphlet (DA PAM) 385-64, Ammunition and Explosives Safety Standards - to support six test divisions' Test and Evaluation (T&E) and other projects.
* Be a liaison to the RTC Logistics (S-4) Department, Redstone Arsenal Ammunition Supply Point (ASP), U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) Quality Assurance Specialist (Ammunition Surveillance) (QASAS), and other external organizations concerning A&E logistics management matters.
* Subject matter expert about A&E logistics management.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

* High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education and Experience:

* Proficient user of Microsoft's Office 365 suite of software and applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Microsoft's SharePoint.
* Commercial Driver's License (CDL), preferably Class A with hazardous materials endorsement.
* Ten (10) years' AA&E logistics experience, civilian or military.
* Prior military AA&E logistics experience.
* Forklift operation experience.
* Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) experience.
* U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command Ammunition Tracking System (AMCATS) experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

A&E storage facilities, indoors and outdoors test and evaluation facilities and sites, medium-sized transport trucks, and for brief periods a shared office environment. Routinely, work is near, or is directly handling standard and non-standard ammunition and explosives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands described must be met to perform the essential functions of the job - able to: see, hear, and speak; repeatedly lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds; sit for extended time; and, use a personal computer and common peripheral devices (e.g., keyboard, mouse, displays, printer). WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS:

Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. In addition, a satisfactory background screening, negative drug test, positive references and proof of identity and legal authorization to work in the United States are required.
