Job Summary

Assesses the creditworthiness of prospective and existing customers to minimize financial risk to the organization. Negotiates payment terms and advises on the collection of overdue bills, taking appropriate actions to recover payments. Develops and implements strategies to maintain effective credit and collection practices while safeguarding the organization's financial health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Credit department operations, ensuring effective and efficient delivery of services and mitigation of credit risk through deployment of credit strategy.
  • Develops departmental strategies and plans aligned with organizational goals to improve the credit management function, reduce risk, and ensure timely collections.Adapts departmental plans to address resource constraints and operational challenges.
  • Establishes and maintains credit policies and procedures that align with business goals, while ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Makes recommendations for adjustments to policies based on changing business needs or market conditions.
  • Assesses customer credit risk and determines credit limits, payment terms, and conditions for new and existing customers. Ensures proper evaluation of financial data to make informed decisions about credit approvals and collections.
  • Monitors accounts receivable aging and identifies problematic accounts, ensuring timely follow-ups and collections to maintain healthy cash flow. Coordinates with other departments to resolve any outstanding issues affecting payment cycles.
  • Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., sales, finance, legal teams) to evaluate and discuss credit risk, customer financial status, and collection strategies. Provides guidance on complex issues or disputes related to credit and collections.
  • Implements tools and systems to improve credit management processes, optimizing the evaluation, approval, and collection of outstanding invoices. Evaluates performance metrics, identifies inefficiencies, and recommends improvements to streamline operations.
  • Review and assess credit line applications, credit increase requests, and perform credit risk assessments promptly.
  • Drive continuous process improvement within the credit department, ensure compliance to all regulatory laws, policies and processing guidelines are efficient and aligned with business objectives.
