Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Project Manager at McHugh Concrete Construction, Inc. The Project Manager will provide management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating job site team, material, and equipment, ensuring that drawings and specifications are being followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. Responsible for managing all the concrete construction scope on an assigned large project, or multiple small projects.

Responsibilities



  • Develop a formal budget using the given take-offs and bid phase budgets
  • Develop and maintain a project schedule
  • Know the contract terms and effectively communicate those terms with the project team.
  • Prepare or direct the preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts for concrete materials and labor; this includes concrete, rebar, stud rails, post-tensioning, formwork, tower and mobile cranes, and any other miscellaneous concrete materials. Participate in negotiations related to these items as necessary.
  • Coordinate all aspects of concrete construction with the owner and general contractor including submitting and coordinating all project schedules, pay applications, change orders, submittals, and RFIs.
  • Represent McHugh in project meetings, labor negotiations, meetings with governmental authorities having jurisdiction over the project, and other meetings necessary for project completion. Maintain relationships with General Contractor.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts (monthly billings, rental equipment, income/expenses, material invoices, etc.)
  • Take-off, price and package all changes. Maintain current change order log and regularly communicate changes with General Contractor.
  • Continuous review of job cost for labor, material, and subcontractors. Monthly forecasting of project site performance.
  • Work with the superintendent to ensure that forming systems are coordinated with the engineer of record and are fully engineered and safe.
  • Coordinate concrete work with other trades and testing agencies on site.
  • Assist in coordination and management of the MEP trades to ensure adherence to the structural parameters of the project and avoid interference with concrete operations.
  • Work with superintendents, foremen, and safety managers to ensure a safe work environment and a high-quality product.
  • Identify, document, and mitigate project risks (scope gaps, constructability, procurement lead times, and schedule impacts) through continuous coordination with project team, and GC.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.


Qualifications



  • 4-year degree in engineering, construction management or relevant field, or equivalent, plus extensive (five or more years) experience/knowledge of construction, finance, and management required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of construction industry regulations and practices


Chicago Project Manager - Annual Salary Pay Range

$90,000 - $130,000
