Overview

Program Details:

Hudson Valley Credit Union is hiring 10 interns for our High School Summer Internship Program. This program is designed to create an immersive experience for students who have a desire to gain working knowledge of the Credit Union industry, as well as exposure to general business operations. Through a combination of rotational assignments, classroom training and formalized feedback, participants will gain exposure to multiple operational areas within HVCU.

Program Details:

Pay: $16.50 per hour

Location: Poughkeepsie, NY

Assignment Length: July 7th - August 14th 2025

Schedule: Tuesday-Friday; 9:00am - 3:30pm


Responsibilities

  • Participate in rotational assignments across various business units of HVCU to improve technical and analytical skills as well as, enhance professional competencies.
  • Develop an understanding of HVCU's product and service offerings; gain experience through direct observation and work assignments.
  • Utilize a courteous, enthusiastic and open-minded approach to policies and procedures within the various departments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all HVCU proprietary information in accordance with internal policy and procedure.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Embrace and apply HVCU's guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union's Mission, Vision, Core Values. Support the Credit Union's initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
  • Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications

  • Students going into Junior or Senior year
  • New York State Working Papers are required
  • Students must be available for the entirety of the 6 week program
  • Strong academic standing is required
  • Reliable transportation preferred
