We're currently looking for a Fleet Mobile Maintenance Technician to join our team and help keep fleets rolling safely. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for performing detailed trailer inspections, preventative maintenance, and repair work to ensure fleet safety, reliability, and DOT compliance. This position involves traveling to customer locations and responding to service calls using a company-provided mobile service vehicle.

What You'll Do:
- Perform DOT annual inspections and comprehensive trailer safety inspections in accordance with federal and company standards
- Conduct fleet readiness checks to proactively identify maintenance issues and ensure trailers are safe and road-ready
- Complete multi-point inspections on trailer systems including structural components, braking systems, suspension, lighting, ABS, and coupling systems
- Diagnose and repair trailer break systems including air brake components, chambers, slack adjusters, S-cams, drums, shoes, and air system leaks
- Service and repair suspension systems including leaf springs, torque arms, bushings, hangers, air ride components, and alignment-related issues
- Perform electrical diagnostics and repairs including lighting systems, ABS components, and wiring issues
- Complete structural and minor fabrication repairs including crossmembers, floors, landing gear, and general trailer framework
- Repair and maintain trailer components such as doors, hinges, latches, lift gates (if applicable), mud flaps, and safety equipment
- Prioritize and complete safety-related repairs to ensure DOT compliance and minimize out-of-service conditions
- Accurately document inspection findings, work performed, parts used, and labor time on work orders
- Communicate inspection results and repair recommendations clearly with service advisors and management
- Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicle to ensure readiness and safe operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in both shop and mobile settings
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by the manager to support operations
What You Need:
- Diesel mechanical knowledge/experience required
- Experience working on semi-trailers or heavy-duty trailers required
- Strong understanding of air brake systems and trailer components
- Ability to perform DOT trailer inspections (certification preferred)
- Trailer repair and maintenance experience strongly preferred
- Welding and fabrication skills required
- Ability to work independently in a mobile environment and respond to service calls
- Ability to use basic hand tools, air tools, welding equipment, and other essential service tools
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Ability to lift, push, carry, and/or move a maximum of 100 pounds
- Ability to bend, stretch, lift, push, pull and reach without difficulty. Frequent kneeling and bending over the back
