The C4ISR Systems Division at Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) delivers mission-critical solutions in cyber operations, information architecture, strategic deterrence, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR). We specialize in modular open architecture designs and digital engineering environments that support government partners.

SDL is seeking an Entry-Level Systems Engineer to support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts for Government programs. The selected candidate will focus on SysML modeling, requirements management, and system documentation using industry-standard MBSE tools.
This position is onsite, non-remote in our North Logan, UT location.

Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains system models using SysML in Cameo Systems Modeler
  • Supports requirements management activities, including importing, organizing, and refining technical requirements
  • Creates and maintains system architecture artifacts, including block definition, internal block, activity, sequence, state, and parametric diagrams
  • Generates model-based documentation to support system design reviews and program milestones
  • Supports proposal and program documentation through model-derived products
  • Participates in MBSE toolchain evaluation and continuous process improvement activities
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary engineering teams to support system integration
  • Handles Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) in accordance with program and organizational policies
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (must be complete or completed within 6 months of the posting date) in systems engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline
  • Must have no more than 5 years of relevant experience
  • Demonstrated academic or professional experience applying SysML in a model-based systems engineering environment
  • Experience using Cameo Systems Modeler or comparable MBSE tools
  • Familiarity with systems requirements development and management
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Eligibility to work on government-sponsored programs
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Practical experience developing and maintaining production-level SysML models
  • Experience supporting government or defense-related engineering programs
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Visure, or JAMA
  • Experience supporting proposal or RFP development activities
  • Exposure to system integration activities involving mechanical, electrical, and/or software subsystems
  • Experience evaluating or implementing MBSE workflows and toolchains
  • Programming or scripting experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB)
  • Familiarity with Linux-based or version-controlled development environments
*Salary Range
  • $67,000 - $92,000
    • Salary commensurate on education and relevant experience
