Digital Content Specialist II (Contract)
Position Summary
The Digital Content Specialist II is responsible for executing and managing digital content across enterprise-level web platforms. This role focuses on publishing and maintaining pre-developed content (text, images, and video) within a content management system (CMS), ensuring alignment with established digital standards, brand voice, and user experience guidelines. This is a content execution role, not content creation. The specialist will work within existing templates and components to build and maintain web pages.
Key Responsibilities
Use a CMS to build, edit, and publish web pages across internal and external digital platforms
Execute digital content updates in alignment with brand standards, digital guidelines, and business objectives
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
Maintain strong attention to detail from project initiation through completion within established workflows
Ensure all published content is error-free and meets quality standards
Collaborate cross-functionally with UX designers, copywriters, designers, and internal stakeholders
Support web updates for high-priority or time-sensitive events, including reputational or emergency situations
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (once every 5 weeks) for after-hours support
Provide additional after-hours support as needed for critical events
Required Qualifications
2-5 years of experience working with enterprise-level CMS platforms (e.g., Sitecore, Optimizely, Drupal, or similar)
Hands-on experience managing and publishing digital content within structured CMS environments
Understanding of content governance, auditing, and digital best practices
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Sitecore or similar enterprise CMS platforms
Familiarity with:
Experience with tools such as Jira, SharePoint, Adobe Creative Suite, or Microsoft Office
What This Role Is NOT
Not a content creation role (no writing or design responsibilities)
Not a developer or coding role (no programming required; basic HTML is a plus)
Not a UX design role (no page layout or design ownership)
Not an SEO strategy role
Additional Details
Contract Length: 12 months (extension or conversion not guaranteed)
Work Hours: 40 hours/week
Overtime: Occasional (~2 hours/week)
On-Call Requirement: Once every 5 weeks (24/7 rotation)
Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Travel/Driving: Not required
Expenses: Limited (mobile stipend provided)
Team & Onboarding
Work within a team of 4+ digital content specialists using a customized enterprise CMS
Structured onboarding with dedicated training and mentorship
Gradual transition into full workload following CMS training
Candidate Profile
Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments
Comfortable executing within structured systems and workflows
Strong collaborator with internal stakeholders
Able to handle time-sensitive and high-visibility updates
The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $33.94-$35.11 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
