Our Senior Process Automation Developer designs, develops, implements and maintains automation solutions to streamline and improve business processes. This Developer will partner with business stakeholders and users to understand process requirements, document process flows, and identify automation opportunities. Our Senior Process Automation Developer requires advanced knowledge of process automation tools, strong coding skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to optimize workflows. And will participate in on-call rotation and assist in research for issue resolution.

Salary Range: $100,000 ~ $135,000
The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Employees living within 45 miles of WPS Headquarters (1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI) will be expected to be able to work Hybrid 2 days a week on a regular basis. How do I know this opportunity is right for me? If you:

  • Can create technical specification documents, translate technical details into business terminology, utilize source control, and create system documentation.
  • Have developed automation workflows, designed user interfaces, and created customized automation components.
  • Can deploy and manage automation solutions, troubleshooting issues, and ensure optimal performance.
  • Like identifying and resolving complex issues related to automation processes and can measure the return on investment of automation projects.
  • Enjoy optimizing automation performance by analyzing and improving the speed and efficiency of automated processes.
  • Can develop resources for users to understand and utilize automated solutions.
  • Could maintain expertise in process automation technologies, best practices, and emerging automation trends.
  • Like to provide leadership, expertise, and solutions on complex initiatives including all projects and maintenance work.
  • Would thrive serving as a subject matter expert and mentor for staff in the process automation development team.


Minimum Qualifications



  • U.S. citizenship is required due to Department of Defense restrictions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • 5 or more years of experience in a software development role.
  • Extensive knowledge of various programming languages (i.e., .NET, SQL, VB.Net, C#).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Web API's and services.
  • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation of development, build, or deployment tasks.
  • Proficient in Excel, VBA and GIT.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with various business functions and the ability to analyze and optimize processes.
  • Self-motivated, able to collaborate in multi-disciplinary teams and work in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with mainframe terminal automation/screen scraping and browser automation.
