SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Accountant is responsible for account reconciliations, month-end closing activities, and financial reporting. This position is a key contributor of the General Ledger Group ensuring timely and accurate closing of the books and full understanding and reconciliation of the financial ledger.

ORGANIZATION STRUCTURE

The Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities of this role include the following:

  1. Records fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers and calculate monthly depreciation and amortization.
  2. Prepares account reconciliations (cash and cash equivalents, liabilities, prepaids, etc.)
  3. Coordinates with HR to properly record payroll related accounting transactions (accruals, benefits, bonus, etc.)
  4. Record and reconcile debt related transactions
  5. Prepare analysis of accounts as requested
  6. Reconciles intercompany transactions and researches discrepancies
  7. Assists in month-end/year-end closing by posting adjusting and accrual entries
  8. Prepares consolidation package schedules to support Annual Report preparation
  9. Assists in Interim and Year-End external audits
  10. Provides commentary for monthly variance analysis
  11. Other special projects as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business with emphasis in Accounting or 3-5 year related accounting experience
  2. Excellent math and analytical skills
  3. Attention to detail and accuracy
  4. Efficient scheduling and monitoring of numerous tasks at the same time
  5. Problem analysis and problem-solving skills
  6. Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
  7. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies
  8. Must have excellent work habits, including a willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially when important deadlines cause greater than normal departmental pressures and extended work hours.
  9. MS Office Proficiency; Excel (formulas, pivot tables, V lookup), PowerPoint, Word
  10. SAP and BPC a plus

GMP DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY

GMP Decision Making Authority: None

The anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000. This position is eligible for Alvogen's annual discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package, consisting of medical and prescription drug coverage (two PPO plans and an HDHP with Health Savings Account and employer contribution), dental, vision, flexible spending accounts. Alvogen's benefits package also includes a retirement savings program, long-term care coverage, paid time off (176 hours per year, prorated to hire date) inclusive of sick time, disability benefits, life insurance, a wellness program, and 13 company recognized paid holidays per year.
