Overview

This is a hybrid role, with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

The Chart of Accounts (CoA) Governance & Elevation Cycle Lead is responsible for endtoend governance, execution, and oversight of the monthly CoA elevation cycles. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and controlled evolution of the key General Ledger CoA dimensions by managing change request intake, review, testing, communication, and production elevation activities across concurrent cycles. The position partners closely with Finance, Accounting, FP&A and Technology/Systems teams to maintain a stable, wellcontrolled financial reporting structure.

This role is critical to safeguarding financial meta data quality, supporting regulatory and management reporting requirements, and enabling scalable growth.


Responsibilities

  • Accounting & Reporting - Provide governance and quality control oversight over the chart of account (CoA) dimensions; Apply CoA governance rules, naming conventions, and structural standards to all requests; Ensure only accurate, eligible, approved, and properly documented requests move forward in each cycle; Perform accounting and reporting quality checks and partner with requestors to resolve issues, clarify requirements, and ensure compliance; Maintain auditready documentation and support internal/external audit inquiries.
  • System Support - Lead the full lifecycle of the monthly CoA elevation cycles, ensuring timely and accurate execution from intake through production deployment; Manage two concurrent cycles at all times, ensuring correct request alignment and preventing crosscycle conflicts; Review and validate all incoming change requests for CoA Dimensions under your responsibility, including checks for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with governance requirements and accounting standards.
  • Collaboration - Serve as a primary point of contact for all CoA elevationrelated inquiries; facilitate meetings with requestors, business teams, and technology partners to review requests, resolve issues, and align on timelines; publish cycle updates, testing reminders, and elevation communications across Finance and partner teams; maintain and update documentation on FCBs internal home site, IRIS.
  • Peer Leadership - Assists management with onboarding and training of new staff. May mentor less experienced associates, including review of daily output and coaching on accounting issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Financial Analysis OR High School Diploma or GED and 10 years of experience in Accounting, Audit, or Financial Analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of financial data structures, Chart of Accounts, and enterprise reporting.
  • Experience coordinating crossfunctional processes with multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to controlbased execution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to lead meetings and publish clear guidance.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent cycles, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Experience with enterprise systems such as Oracle, PeopleSoft, EDM, or similar.

Preferred Education: Advanced Degree

License or Certification Type: Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Preferred Skill(s): Strong understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and self-motivated problem solver, Knowledge of accounting and financial systems
