Summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a qualified Senior Scheduler to join our project in Fort Meade, MD. The state-of-the art operations facility consists of a multi-story, 858,000-square-foot building that will include open office areas, collaborative multi-discipline workspace, computer labs and virtual instruction/distance learning-enable classrooms along with an accompanying 1.2-million-square-foot parking garage. This project is design-build. The ideal candidate would display a strong work ethic, a commitment to excellence, and the desire to work within a collaborative team environment. The Senior Scheduler will assist Business Development, Preconstruction, Operations, and Legal with preparation, development, and finalization of project schedules. Function as a project team member on schedule issues as necessary. Train and mentor operations personnel in scheduling matters and related policies, and provide the most accurate and complete scheduling information for new and ongoing business ventures.



Essential Functions



  • Manage and/or create conceptual (RFP), bidding (preconstruction) and final project schedules from preliminary and ongoing project information for marketing, preconstruction, and operations departments use.
  • Attend job site meetings, work and meet with architects, engineers, subcontractors, owners, and contact and visit job sites in order to develop the project schedule.
  • Develop standard and custom graphs and charts for site personnel to manage the project.
  • Build and maintain a database of activity groups with as-built information for future use and reference.
  • Train field and office personnel on scheduling software use and all scheduling issues including fragnets, value of reports, and ways to document project effects.
  • Train field and office personnel on performing a Time Impact Analysis along with the monthly review of all pre-submitted Time Impact Analyses for each project.
  • Provide support and guidance to ensure the baseline schedule submission is timely, complete, accurate, and in compliance with standard company procedures and the contract.
  • Visit each assigned job site at least once per quarter to assist with schedule maintenance and change order management.
  • Participate in financial and legal project reviews as necessary to evaluate and mitigate any schedule risk in accordance with standard company procedures.
  • Produce presentation quality schedules for business development, operations, and legal presentations.
  • Build owner activities, project close-out activities, and activities from Technical Services and Safety Departments into all project schedules.
  • Develop documentation for claims - assist operations personnel in identifying situations where a claim is likely and take early steps to prevent these claims and/or defend the company and, as appropriate the owner, from these claims.
  • Participate in meetings regarding project delay issues and suggest alternative means and methods of scheduling in order to recover the project's progress as appropriate.
  • Enforce and know the importance of maintaining the integrity of schedule logic.
  • Ensure implementation of company policies and procedures for project scheduling.
  • Prepare monthly schedule status report for project management and the Scheduling Manager.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly billing schedule.
  • Purchase and maintain company's scheduling software license inventory.
  • Provide scheduling software technical assistance to company personnel.
  • Participate in job related associations and community-based organizations and associations to enhance the company's image and position.



Minimum Requirements



  • Minimum 8 years of experience scheduling large, commercial construction projects
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CPM scheduling principles and application
  • Build and manage project schedules for multiple projects, and/or fewer, more complex projects
  • Lead project scheduling processes (including baseline creation, updating, critical path analysis, impact analysis, weather analysis, recovery schedules, resequencing, change management, cost/resource loading, reporting)
  • Lead project planning via Lean practices
  • Interact with subcontractors, owners, project teams, leadership
  • Train others in scheduling concepts and software
  • Adept with Primavera P6 software
  • This position requires eligibility to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense security credential. Due to federal contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.



Preferred Requirements



  • Federal project experience is preferred but not required.
  • Offers may be contingent on Government approval of resume for assigned position.

Pay Rate: $105,000-145,000*

*This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, incentive, or any other form of compensation that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company's sole discretion, consistent with the law and any applicable plan documents.
