Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Auxiliary Crew role is essential in supporting the forging operation by executing a range of service tasks crucial to production. This position is responsible for verifying die assembly in presses, assisting press operators in setup and tear down of press dies, ensuring proper lubrication equipment operation, material centering on presses, and other pivotal duties to maintain operational efficiency.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Verify proper dies are assembled in the press by using set up sheet and/or setup blueprint.
* Responsible for assisting the press operator on set up and tear down of press dies; also checks that the throat opening, and guide tube are aligned. Report any die wear or abnormalities to operators or supervisors.
* Checks lube equipment prior to running job and lubes dies according to lube procedure on weight ticket/procedure sheet.
* Ensure material is centered in press when loading for forging.
* Apply correct paper and glass as procedure sheet states.
* Blows scale off parts, blocking base and pot by using a blow pipe.
* Read blueprints to build die stacks and break down die stacks.
* Stack parts out and spray coat parts

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
* Capacity to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment while maintaining safety standards.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and procedures.
* Attention to detail in verifying and documenting operational processes.
* Strong communication skills to report abnormalities and collaborate effectively.
* Capability to perform physical tasks involving standing, reaching, and lifting.
* Willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Proficiency in basic mechanical tasks and equipment operation.
EDUCATION:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Technical training or certification related to manufacturing operations is a plus. EXPERIENCE:
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
* Familiarity with press operations and die assembly processes is advantageous.
* Experience with lubrication equipment and material handling techniques is beneficial.
* Experience operating a forklift is preferred.

WORK CONDITIONS:
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance.
* The employee frequently is required to walk.
* The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear.
* The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
* Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
* While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
* The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and is frequently exposed to extreme heat.
* The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

HOURS:1ST (6am-2pm) 2ND (2pm-10pm) 3RD (10pm-6am)

Must be able to work any shift. 1st shift 6am-2pm, 2nd shift 2pm - 10pm, 3rd shift 10pm - 6am

NOTES:
Pay for this position starts at $23.00 per hour base rate. If assigned to an off shift the employee will also receive $1.00 for shift pay
