Senior Project Manager (RPLS), Survey, Fort Worth, TX
Halff has an immediate opening for a Senior Survey Project Manager who is a Registered Professional Land Surveyor for our Fort Worth, TX office. The ideal candidate would bring at least 3 years of management experience in the Survey industry. Previous experience managing large-scale, land survey projects, including overseeing field crews and multiple survey technicians and other registered surveyors is required. What you will do:
- This role will be responsible for managing and overseeing the design and construction of projects for the Survey practice.
- This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities.
- Manage design and plan production as well as manage clients and supervise technical staff through workshare opportunities with various practices and offices at Halff.
- This position shall value and be active in professional organizations that benefit the Survey Industry.
- Develop a network of municipal clients and teaming partners.
- Develop and manage project scope, personnel, budgets, schedules and collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
- Oversee project's financial health, report issues, and come up with solutions.
- Manage other consultant teams and the workload of design staff including field crew members, surveyors, and technical staff that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas.
- Provide support to business development efforts to guide and lead each phase of the process in preparation of proposals, while emphasizing quality outcomes.
- Exceptional ability to lead by example in a professional, productive and established work environment.
- Assist with the operational flow for a survey team to collaboratively prioritize projects of all sizes and levels of complexities.
- Report on project progress and budgets.
- Work with the Survey Team Leader and Operations Managers in business development activities.
What you will need:
- 3+ years of demonstrated management experience in the Survey industry.
- RPLS in the state of Texas, preferred, or could become licensed in Texas within a year.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing large-scale, land survey projects, including overseeing field crews and multiple survey technicians and other registered surveyors.
- Boundary and Right of Way resolution.
- Preparation of proposals.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with internal and external clients for the purpose of being concise, clear, and conveying details for project deliverables in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ability to work autonomously, mentor and professionally develop Survey Technicians and field crew members.
- Exceptional ability and practical experience to successfully manage projects, including developing scope of work, schedule and fee while adhering to established guidelines.
- Technical understanding and proficiencies with Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D.
- Experience with Public Works, Energy, Water & Wastewater, and/or Land Development projects, is ideal.
- Hands-on experience with various municipalities in the North Texas market.
