Application Architect

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Solution Architect - Hybrid for a contract to hire opportunity with a Global Financial Institution located in Charlotte, NC.

This role involves defining the architectural vision and design for large, complex solutions within the Payments domain, aligning with enterprise strategy. The ideal candidate will be an expert in microservices architecture and cloud migrations, responsible for designing high throughput, low latency systems with zero downtime and zero data loss. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite and involves working closely with business partners and development teams to provide design oversight and mentor technical leads.

Responsibilities:

• Work with business partners and enterprise architects to define architecture and design
• Work with development teams to provide design oversight and mentor tech leads
• Define high-level designs, architecture roadmaps, and technology adoption guidelines and standards
• Describe the solution intent and associated operating environment
• Evaluate system impacts and determine the primary systems/subsystems and their interfaces
• Define non-functional requirements and architectural runway to support new epics/features
• Ensure a solution is fit for purpose by working with stakeholders and vendors
• Mentor junior team members and collaborate with remote teams across time zones

Requirements:

• 15 years of experience in Solution Architecture
• Significant experience defining the architectural vision and design for large, complex solutions in the financial services industry
• Deep understanding of Domain Driven Design (DDD), distributed systems design, integration patterns, microservices architecture, Cloud native, and UML
• Experience architecting for high throughput, low latency, zero downtime, and zero data loss
• Experience with modern tech stacks including Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), OpenShift, Kafka, and distributed databases (Mongo DB / Cockroach DB)
• Experience with container design and deployment strategies
• Proven ability to perform trade-off analysis for scalability, security, and resiliency
• Experience with software development processes (Agile and Waterfall)
• Past experience as a developer

Desired skills:

• Payments Technology experience
• Understanding of regulatory requirements
• Experience with Bookkeeping and Ledger Applications
• Experience with Banking and Financial Product Processors
• Agile Lifecycle experience

Pay range: $60.24 - $68.24 per hour
