Project Manager, Water Resources Engineering, Austin, TX (South)
Halff is seeking a Project Manager (P.E.) Civil/Stormwater Engineer to join our expanding Water Resources Engineering team in Austin, TX. In this role, you will lead and manage water resources projects, delivering hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, drainage and watershed management, FEMA floodplain analysis, and earlystage design solutions for both public and private stormwater infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of project management experience in water resources engineering, hydrology, hydraulic modeling, and related civil engineering disciplines. You are a technically strong, solutionsoriented professional who thrives on helping communities and developing costeffective, maintainable, and sustainable designs for municipalities, government agencies, and private developers. What you will do:
- Manage projects from planning through delivery, collaborating with project members, multi-practice teams, subconsultants and other stakeholders to make sure deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs and meeting plans are communicated.
- Assist in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Support in preparation of proposals and RFQs.
- Manage quality assurance and control analysis to ensure projects meet or exceed client expectations and Halff requirements and comply with recognized standards and codes of practice.
- Apply technical expertise appropriately by understanding project specific standards, criteria, deliverables and best practices.
- Monitor project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, EITs, and technical staff, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within project team.
What you will need:
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering Degree.
- PE license in the state of Texas
- 5-10 years of experience, leading and/or supporting projects including watershed studies, stormwater master plans, H&H modeling, and drainage support for public works, transportation and land development projects.
- Good technical writing and communication skills
- Must be proficient in project management, administration, and supervision, with a focus on quality, integrity and success
- Must have technical experience with water resources software such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, ArcGIS, and/or CADD
- Experience with 2D modeling software packages are beneficial but not required
- Established client relationships in Central Texas a plus.
- CFM (Certified Floodplain Manager) is preferred.
