Deputy Test Director

Valiant is looking for a Deputy Test Director supporting the Collective Joint Training (CJT) contract for the Joint Staff J7 Deputy Directorate Joint Training and Exercises (JS J7 DD JTE) in Suffolk, VA. The CJT contract provides analytical, operational, technical, and administrative support for the execution of all phases of the Joint Training System (JTS) for large joint and combined military exercises. This position supports the Joint Training & Simulation Division (JTSD) employment of M&S systems for Research, Development, Evaluation & Testing (RDT&E) events, Combatant Command (CCMD) exercises, and mission rehearsals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with Event, Functional, and Technical Planners and Analysts on the design, configuration, testing, and operation of M&S systems.
• Create and curate M&S test plans and test cases.
• Prepare briefing products and facilitate M&S test and risk reduction events.
• Qualify as a M&S Model Operator.
• Perform Model Operator functions during test and exercise execution events.
• Support the design, development, testing, and validation of M&S database products.
• Provide M&S training at local and remote locations.
• Prepare briefing products and facilitate work group sessions.
• Use AI as an enabler for the production of M&S-related contract deliverables.
• Conduct up to 30% unaccompanied travel.
• Other duties as assigned.

SECURITY R EQUIREMENTS: Active Secret and ability to obtain Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI)

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: B.S. or B.A. degree (relevant experience may substitute), Graduate of an intermediate Service School desired

REQUIRED QUALIFICIATONS:

• 4+ years' experience as a commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, or civilian equivalent including 2 years' experience in planning and conducting military training for a service or joint/combined organization.
• Eligible for a U.S. passport.
• Must be able to travel unassisted to CONUS and oversees locations to perform job duties.
• Experience in using simulations in support of military training and exercises.
• Familiarity with the development of scenario products and injects for military exercises.
• Familiarity with National Security Strategy (NSS), National Defense Strategy (NDS), and National Military Strategy (NMS).
• Familiarity with use of Artificial Intelligence in the workplace.
• Skilled in all aspects of communications for briefings, presentations, and classroom instructions.
• Skilled in the use of Microsoft 365 applications and environments.
• Ability to organize and complete assignments according to established standards regarding clarity, conciseness, style and terminology

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Position: On-site, Office environment
• Work Week: Monday-Friday (may vary based on mission requirements)
• Work Hours: 0800 - 1700 (may vary based on mission requirements)
• Overtime: Support surge efforts as required
• Travel: As required, up to 30%
