We are currently seeking an experiencedSenior/Staff Controls Engineer (Senior/Staff Applications Engineer) to join our team. This individual will play a key role in designing, developing, andoptimizingcontrol systems for gas turbinesused in industrial applications. In this role, you will focus on the development and integration ofmedium to high-complexity control systemsfor aeroderivative gas turbines. You will lead projects, collaborate across departments, and ensure that designs meetindustry standards, project requirements, and safety protocols. You will also support production troubleshooting, mentor junior engineers, and explore emerging technologies to enhance system performance and reliability.

Senior Controls Engineer (Senior Application Engineer)

  • Estimated annual base pay: $93,000 (min) - $121,000 (mid) - $149,000 (max)

Staff Controls Engineer (Senior Application Engineer):

  • Estimated annual base pay: $113,000 (min) - $147,000 (mid) - $181,000(max)
  • $5K (gross sign on bonus for hired candidate)
  • Relocation assistance provided
  • This role is eligible for overtime compensation to support travel to client sites (up to 15% travel)

Role Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement control systems for gas turbine fuel systems, emissions management, and auxiliary systems
  • Use PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, and motion controllers to create reliable control solutions
  • Apply industry standards such as IEC and ISA, along with safety protocols, in system design and implementation
  • Integrate industrial automation and communication protocols such as Modbus, EGD, and OPC.
  • Support reliable operation through system integration and optimization of automation technologies
  • Diagnose and resolve moderately to highly complex control system issues, including turbine performance and network communication problems
  • Use data analysis to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Create and maintain detailed system documentation aligned with best practices and compliance requirements
  • Mentor junior engineers and interns by sharing project execution guidance, problem-solving approaches, and technical skills
  • Provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement and professional growth.

Requirements

  • Experience with industrial automation and/or aeroderivative gas turbine control systems, including fuel delivery, emissions controls, and auxiliary systems
  • Proficiency in PLC programming and/or HMI/SCADA tools
  • Knowledge of industrial networking, including switches, VLANs, and protocols such as Modbus, EGD, and OPC
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and improve performance, reliability and safety.
  • Understanding of mechatronics and the interaction between mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Familiarity with IEC, ISO, and other relevant international standards

Additional Qualifications: Senior Controls (Application) Engineer

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Engineeringor related field.
  • Experience:4+ years of experience in gas turbine control systems or equivalent.

Additional Qualifications Staff Controls (Application) Engineer:

  • 4 Year Bachelors BS AND 8+ years equivalent experience

International - Bachelors BS/University degree equivalent by Country AND 8+ years

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity withGas Turbine controls and operations.
  • Experience inPowerGenerationor Oil & Gasapplications.
  • Network management and cybersecurity knowledge.
