Overview Join Con Edison as a Systems Specialist and help advance the companys capabilities in AI Governance. Were looking for an experienced AI Governance Project Lead who will work closely with IT peers and stakeholders across the company to support responsible, data driven decision making aligned with Con Edisons strategic goals. This role sits within the Data & AI Governance program in the Data Governance Office (DGO), part of the Enterprise Data & AI department. The DGO puts Data and AI Governance into practice through collaboration, process and policy management, along with the development of technology standards and solutions. As the AI Governance Project Lead, you will manage project plans and objectives while coordinating cross functional initiatives and discussions with stakeholders across the organization. You will bring industry best practices and practical experience to guide the effort, and partner with colleagues in the DGO and leadership to support consistent program execution and strong governance across the enterprise. Core Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the AI Governance project plan and roadmap aligned with Data & AI Governance program goals and company priorities
- Translate plans into actionable sprint tasks in Azure DevOps and manage progress through sprint planning
- Prepare and present project status updates and program overviews for various audiences
- Define and track project metrics to monitor progress and drive continuous improvement
- Manage project artifacts, deliverables, budgets, and resource allocations
- Partner with the Data Governance Office, IT, and company stakeholders to develop and refine AI policies and standards
- Promote and mature the companys AI Governance framework while ensuring compliance with regulations, industry practices, development standards, and company policies
- Work with risk partners to identify and refine enterprise and departmental AI related risks
- Evaluate AI Governance tooling needs and support solution selection, procurement, and vendor evaluation processes
- Foster a proactive, customer centric culture that builds trust and improves stakeholder engagement and value
- Lead a team through means of hiring, coaching, assigning work, and performance management
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Master's Degree and a minimum 2 years of relevant full-time work experience or
- Bachelor's Degree and a minimum 3 years of relevant full-time work experience or
- Associate's Degree and a minimum 5 years of relevant full-time work experience or
- High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 7 years of relevant full-time work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Business, or a technology-centric related field and a minimum of 4 years full-time relevant work experience in project and/or program management with relevance in data, AI or software development
Relevant Work Experience
- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex technology and/or GRC projects, required
- Strong understanding of AI technologies, governance and responsible AI concepts/frameworks and their applications in real-world use cases, required
- Experience in process development and refinement, change and stakeholder management and communications, required
- Experience working in risk frameworks, definitions and management, preferred
- Experience working in a regulated industry/environment, and familiarity with data-related regulations and policies, including but not limited to local, state and federal AI regulations, preferred
- Experience with the Azure platform and offerings, GCP platform and offerings, and AI development tools, preferred
- Familiarity with data governance, data privacy, data security, and ML / AI model and product management best practices, preferred

Licenses and Certifications
- Driver's License Required
- Other: Project Management (PMP, PMI-ACP, etc), Privacy (IAPP certs) or AI Governance Practitioner Preferred

- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
