Job Summary The CNA/Certified Medication Technician (CNA/CMT) under the supervision of the Professional Registered Nurse, the Licensed Practical Nurse, and/or the Physician, is responsible for providing age-appropriate, culturally and ethnically sensitive care, maintaining a safe environment, collecting information, communicating effectively, and utilizing technology. The CNA provides personal care of selected patients, assists with activities of daily living, provides comfort measures and nourishments, and performs selected therapies as delegated by a licensed professional. The role of the CNA also includes patient advocacy and performance improvement. With the Certified Medications Technician qualifications the additional responsibilities are the following; Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy, May take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications, Records the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately, utilizing the computer system to enter and reference resident information as needed, Administers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regs and consistent with facility policy.High School Diploma or GED Georgia Nurse Aide Certification (CNA). Basic Life Support (BLS). Georgia Medication Technician Certification (CMT). Core Competencies 1.
