PLACEMENT: Grade 113
HIRING RANGE: $30.13 - $31.94 hourly

POSITION SUMMARY
The Application Developer/Analyst position supports the effective use of the College's administrative computer systems. This is done by providing system administration, business analysis, computer programming support, software troubleshooting, and working with students, faculty, co-workers, and staff to accomplish the College's goals through the use of the ERP system(s).

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assists in the development, analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation and documentation of computer-based applications.
2. Act as an analyst and solution lead proving functional expertise, leadership, and solution creation for a defined set of stakeholder functional areas defined in yearly goals (This may include one more of groups including Human Resources, Payroll, or Purchasing).
3. Work closely with the user community to further integrate the College's ERP and business system functionality and improve related business processes especially in area of functional focus.
4. Support ERP Modernization including representing the functional areas of expertise support.
5. Support ERP modernization representing technical areas of ownership slated to be replaced, as well as provide expertise for functional area in conjunction with System Administrators for the integration portion throughout the project and subsequent implementation.
6. Provide technical support to IT professionals and end users as needed for the ERP system.
7. Assist users with reporting requirements, applications development, training, and documentation in conjunction with System Administrators, functional area of focus, and others in the IT division.
8. Communicate with users, especially in areas of functional focus, to determine their business needs, programming requirements, investigate issues with current programs, attend user meetings, and serve on committees.
9. Design, program and implement computer software to fulfill user requirements using proper applications development methodology and best practices without customization when possible.
10. Train functional area personnel on how to use new programs and systems, and prepare detailed documentation of programs and systems, especially area areas of defined functional focus.
11. Maintain competency in emerging technologies related to the College's ERP and business systems.
12. Participate in the department and College's goals and objectives.
13. Perform related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience, preferably in Computer Science/Information Technology or closely related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of applicable programming and applications development experience including at least 2 years supporting a business system in a higher education environment.
3. Excellent problem solving, writing, interpersonal, and communications skills; capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects/initiatives; self-motivated, goal oriented, and very customer focused.
4. Proven experience to independently analyze and conceptualize system designs to direct and/or implement appropriate technical solutions and modifications.
5. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with other members of the college and community, displaying cultural competence as well as emotional intelligence.
6. Demonstrated commitment to the college's core values of respect and inclusion, sustainability, integrity, collaboration, humor and well-being, innovation and quality.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Experience in the administration, support and/or development of Workday Business Systems especially in a higher education environment is highly desired
2. Working knowledge of UNIX/Windows systems, databases and query languages.
3. Experience with COLLEAGUE software package and related database(s).
4. Experience with Unibasic programming and/or Envision Toolkit/Studio programming.
5. Familiarity with Microsoft products, Web-based products and SQL reporting tools.
6. Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle focusing on analysis, design, implementation, testing, and evaluation.
7. English and Spanish verbal and written communication proficiency.
8. Demonstrated multicultural competence.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
1. Normal office physical demands.
2. Ability to travel between campus locations.
3. Occasional travel for training/conferences is possible, both in state and nationally.

WORKING CONDITIONS
1. Duties are performed indoors in the usual office environment.
2. Required use of computer equipment needed to accomplish administrative application programming and related activities.
