Senior Missile System Structural Engineer

Avion Solutions Inc., an employee-owned company, is seeking candidates for a Senior Missile System Structural Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA). This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

• Conduct analysis of interceptor missile system and/or launch and ground system structures, structural mechanics, failure modes, and fatigue analysis.

• Support missile/ground system structural requirements development, coordination, and verification activities in support of the GMD Product Office.

• Support and lead multi-disciplinary Technical Interchange Meetings (TIM) and Working Groups (WG) with missile defense Government and Industry partners.

• Coordinate and support the execution of TIMs and/or WGs in the absence of Government Product Office Chairs. Document activities, actions, and Executive Summaries of structural analysis TIMs and WGs.

• Other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• MS STEM degree and 12+ years of related professional experience in mechanical/aerospace structural analysis.

• Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated Govt/Industry multi-disciplinary team.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

• Must be able to travel up to 15% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Top Secret Clearance or eligibility for TS upgrade as required.

• Demonstrated experience with Ground-based Missile Defense interceptors, launch, or ground systems.

• Demonstrated experience with Missile Defense Agency-managed weapon systems.
