About the Role

The Principal Finance Business Partner supports the New England Electric organization and is responsible for providing commercial acumen, challenging strategic and financial priorities, and delivering financial guidance and insight to our NE Electric business partners to enable decisions that deliver financial performance. Focus primarily on operating expenses with the Electric Operations organization.

What You'll Do

* Lead planning and performance management for operating expenses and capital investments, providing monthly and quarterly insight on NE Electric financial results and forward-looking impacts.
* Drive business value by identifying improvement opportunities, developing business cases, managing financial risks, and ensuring effective controls are in place.
* Understand the regulatory structure of NE Electric operating companies (along with IFRS and GAAP accounting), collaborating with regulatory and finance colleagues on assessment of rate case changes, application to decision making, and impact to future activities.
* Coach and direct analysts in the team, providing daytoday guidance and division of work.
* Steer finance improvements through mastery and adoption of AI tools and technologies
* Contribute to the long-term business planning, linking activity and outcomes to financial investments.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with New England Electric business, Finance and other internal teams.
* Own and lead crossteam initiatives and workstreams, acting as the single point of accountability and ensuring successful execution across stakeholders.
* Collaborate with other FBPs on training and best practices demonstrating continuous improvement.

What You'll Need

* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* Broad range of financial modelling and analysis experience, including on unit cost and activity based costing.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, presentation skills
* Demonstrated critical thinking skills with an ability to identify key issues and recommend solutions to complex problems using data, logic and financial insight.
* Strong commercial acumen and ability to influence and impact the decisions and financial performance of senior stakeholders and their teams throughout the relevant business area.
* Strong technical skills with financials systems and excel
* Experience in utility service business activities and systems a plus

Annual Salary

$136,000-$160,000
