Direct and oversee all medical care rendered to patients within the Emergency Department while on duty. Supervise the clinical care, procedures, charting, and interactions with patients and staff by residents, interns, students. The position requires a license to practice medicine issued by the California Board of Medical Examiners and Board Eligibility or Certification in Emergency Medicine. Department Description : The Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) provides comprehensive emergency services to a large local and referral population at multiple academic hospitals across the San Francisco Bay Area, including UCSF Hellen Diller Medical Center, Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, and the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals in San Francisco and Oakland. DEM hosts a fully accredited 4-year Emergency Medicine residency program and multiple fellowship programs. Research is a major priority for the department, with over 100 peer-reviewed publications annually. We have a highly successful health services research group, participate in multiple clinical research networks (i.e., PECARN, SIREN), and have research expertise in several other disciplines within EM.
