This position reports to the Finance Manager and works directly with the Sr. Financial Analyst. This position will support Major Capital Projects, ensuring financial compliance and adherence throughout the construction of a new hospital. This role will be responsible for reviewing consultant invoices, travel expense reimbursements, and payment applications to ensure compliance with contractual obligations. Additionally, the role involves creating work orders, purchase requisitions, and conducting labor rate reviews. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction finance, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage financial processes in alignment with the Integrated Form of Agreement (IFOA). In addition, this role applies organization policies and procedures to resolve a variety of complicated issues. Works on financial services problems of scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training
  • 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry. Familiarity with union labor agreements, schedule of value analysis, stored material process, lien waiver process, payment application structure and certified payroll
  • Working knowledge of financial processes, policies and procedures
  • Strong knowledge of financial data management and reporting systems
  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheet and database software
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical skills, service orientation, active listening, critical thinking, attention to detail, ability to multi-task in a high volume environment, organizational skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, sound judgment and decision making
  • Ability to function effectively as a member of a team
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Intermediate knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources
  • Skills to provide coaching and mentoring to support staff
