The Administrative Coordinator provides essential administrative and programmatic support to the Department of Neurology's Chairs Office and the Administrative Executive Committee (AEC), spanning the department's four central administrative pillars: People, Research Administration and Finance, Space and Operations, and Department Initiatives. This role manages complex calendars, coordinates meetings, prepares materials, tracks follow-up items, and supports events and other departmental initiatives. The coordinator applies departmental and institutional policies to accomplish multiple projects of mild to moderate complexity, streamlines workflows, maintains documentation, and facilitates communication across teams.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and 3+ years of related work experience; and / or equivalent experience / training.Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.Strong ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders and pivot between multiple tasksAbility to use high-level discretion and maintain a high level of confidentialitySolid skills in problem identificationAbility to meet deadlines and follow through on assigned duties in an independent mannerAbility to work well under pressureAbility to work well with others and as part of a teamAdept with technology and quick learner of new technology
Preferred Qualifications Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, website design, accounting and payroll, and contracts and grants regulations and guidelines. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
