The Department of Pharmaceutical Services provides a full range of services for patients cared for by UCSF Medical Center as well as its providers and payors. These services include, but are not limited to, drug procurement, storage, and security; safe, accurate, and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of patient drug use policies; drug information services for clinicians and patients; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs. As members of the health care team, PGY1 Pharmacy Resident share responsibility for providing high quality, cost-effective patient care which promotes health. Required Qualifications: Must be a graduate or candidate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). At a minimum, the program must be a five-year pharmacy degree program. Maintain exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work well with patients, pharmacists and other healthcare personnel and administrators. Flexible; able to cope with rapid change; comfortable with an ambiguous environment. Ability to troubleshoot problems efficiently and effectively. Maintain effective organizational, management and supervisory skills. Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate programs in a timely fashion. Ability to effectively participate in and develop a team. Demonstrated clinical pharmacy skills and knowledge. This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. License/Certification: Must be eligible for and obtain a California Pharmacy intern license within 30 days of employment. Must be eligible for and obtain a California pharmacist license within 4 months of employment. Must be in good standing with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
