Nurse Anesthetist, Per Diem

To administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical and obstetrical procedures in an operating room, or to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic procedures outside the operating room (OR), under the medical direction billing collaboration of a faculty member of the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Care at UCSF Medical Center.

Requirements

  • Minimum one (1) year of CRNA experience
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and possession of the legal requirements to practice as a Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Graduation from a school of anesthesia accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Schools of Anesthesia; certification by the Council for Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position
  • Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center

  • One (1) year of CRNA experience
  • Active, unrestricted Nurse Anesthetist licensure in California
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse licensure in California
  • Current National Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification for healthcare providers
  • Current American Heart Association ACLS certification
  • Current American Heart Association PALS certification
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and possession of the legal requirements to practice as a Registered Nurse as determined by the California Board of Registered Nursing
  • Graduation from a school of anesthesia accredited by the Council of Accreditation of Schools of Anesthesia
  • At a minimum a master's degree from an accredited Nurse Anesthetist program
  • Knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position

UCSF Medical Center requires all Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to be credentialed through its Office of Medical Affairs and Governance (OMAG) to practice and function in their clinical role. This applies to both adult and pediatric APPs in the inpatient and outpatient clinical settings. Credentialing takes between 60-90 days and must be completed prior to the first working day. You will be assigned a FPPE template of procedures for CRNAs but may add additional privileges on request with an explanation of the purpose.

Salary Information


The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.


Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
