How you make a difference in this role: The mission of the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC) is to operate safe and secure prisons and provide effective community supervision in support of successful reentry. The department manages and operates or oversees 14 state prisons housing approximately 21,000 offenders. In addition, the department supervises some 79,000 offenders on probation, parole, or community correction and operates six Day Reporting/Community Resource Centers across the state. The department is fully accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). Job Overview: The TDOC Special Agent position is assigned to the Office of Investigations and Conduct (OIC) , which is responsible for the pursuit and apprehension of absconders under the jurisdiction of the Tennessee Department of Correction (TDOC). The Special Agent possesses statewide law enforcement authority to conduct both criminal and administrative investigations, detain and arrest based on offenses related to TDOC. Key Responsibilities:
