Position Summary The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Short Term Casual (Non-Student) to join our team in a temporary part time position to work within the Division of Molecular Genetics Columbia University Irving Medical Center's Department of Pediatrics is a world leader in providing care for children. Also to assist with data curation and quality control, performing automated analysis of DNA damage foci using programming. S/He will be supervised by the principal investigator and the researcher. Our mission areas include Healthcare, Education and Research. We offer care for our patients in over 25 specialty areas as well as individualized care for complex cases. Our Residency, Fellowship and Graduate programs are among the best in the Nation. Our Clinical, Translational and Basic Science research features collaborations across specialties and stretches from the bench to bedside. We also have several active Clinical trials available to our patients. This position will provide support for our work on the molecular mechanisms underlying human obesity. Responsibilities Supervised by the PI and will be involved in organizing, analyzing, and interpreting high-dimensional transcriptomic and metabolomic datasets. Assist with data curation and quality control. perform automated analysis of DNA damage foci using programming. Participate in lab meetings. Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested. Minimum Qualifications High School Graduate or Equivalency required. Preferred Qualifications Major in bioinformatics, biostatistics, biology, data science, public health, or a related field, with foundational knowledge of molecular biology and metabolism. Other Requirements HIPAA Privacy and Security Essentials Training Strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills. Ability to maintain clear records, and work in a team environment.
