Designer I

APS is seeking a Designer I in Phoenix AZ.

Pay rate: $25-30/HR, DOE

Duration: 2-year contract

100% onsite

Schedule: Monday-Friday either 6am-2:30pm or 7am-3:30pm

Responsibilities:

1. Creates or updates drawings (electrical, mechanical, civil, or instrument) and related documents, with review from senior designers or a team lead. This includes layouts, diagrams, schematics, and parts lists using manual or computer-aided design (CADD) tools.
2. Collects and organizes engineering data, performs field checks to understand current conditions, and helps develop design drawings with guidance from senior staff.
3. Prepares and shares draft drawings and documents to help speed up the creation of final designs. Assists with wiring diagrams and equipment layouts based on standard guidelines.
4. Follows company procedures, government regulations, and industry codes when completing work.
5. Gathers all required project documents into a complete package, submits them for review, and helps send them to the appropriate teams with guidance from senior staff.
6. Keeps design documents up to date using CADD and manual drafting methods.
7. Learns and uses all required systems and software tools for the job.

Minimum of associate's degree or technical school certification in AutoCAD is required
