Job Title: Engineering Technician

Location: Santa Clara, CA 95051

Duration: 6 months


Overview

We are seeking an experienced Semiconductor R&D Engineering Technician to support lab operations, testing, and equipment management. This role involves hands-on work with complex systems, advanced troubleshooting, and collaboration across engineering teams to ensure high-quality test execution and continuous process improvement.

Top Required Skills

  1. 7+ years of experience as a Semiconductor R&D Technician or in testing/measurement within the semiconductor industry
  2. Strong experience in hardware assembly, firmware/OS flashing, and system deployment, along with advanced PCB soldering skills
  3. Proven ability to perform operational testing and fault isolation on systems and equipment
  4. Experience maintaining and organizing lab equipment and accessories
  5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and document activities related to test benches, testers, and lab equipment
  • Transport, install, upgrade, and configure complex equipment and components
  • Perform complex measurements; document test results, KPIs, and maintain failure/malfunction records
  • Collaborate with vendors and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot, repair, rework, and modify equipment
  • Set up test equipment using hand tools or automated test systems
  • Design and execute complex tests for circuits, components, instruments, and mechanical assemblies
  • Develop and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, and procedures
  • Reproduce, debug, and resolve complex issues; review and approve SOP/process documentation updates
  • Manage inventory processes including purchasing, shipping, receiving, and tracking lab equipment
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and support implementation of new workflows
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians



Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree + 1+ year of relevant experience

    OR
  • Associate's Degree + 2+ years of relevant experience

    OR
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent) + 3+ years of relevant experience



Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 7+ years of relevant semiconductor R&D, testing, or engineering technician experience



Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lifts and installs equipment weighing up to 30 lbs.
