What you'll be challenged to do: Independently performs the most difficult and complex inspection tasks, including assessing adherence to quality control procedures for steel. Inspection activities are usually concentrated in one of the following areas: soils, concrete, steel, mechanical or electrical. Frequently serves in the capacity of Lead Inspector. In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following: Inspects various facets of work on the JEA and FDOT construction site to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and regulations. Documents nonconformance and participates in determining appropriate resolution. Reads and interprets blueprints and construction specifications. Conduct tests to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications. Documents nonconformance and participates determining appropriate resolution. Develop job safety practices and drafts safety reports. Drafts quality control reports and procedures. Provides guidance for lower-level inspectors. Experience with JEA underground utilities is recommended. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
