Will require some pre-work prior to first class date. Training to take place at NCC's Fowler Family Southside Center in Bethlehem, PA and the Career Institute of Technology Machining Lab. Requirements:
Program Overview: The Precision Machining Training Program is a 10-week hands-on program that provides students with the skills needed to fill high-demand machining positions for Lehigh Valley and Pocono businesses. Participants will gain foundational skills in manufacturing including safety; reading blue prints; shop math; measurement and the use of calipers and Vernier scales; and operating lathes and milling machines. A brief introduction to CNC (computer numerical control) machining is also covered. This non-credit, grant funded program, is free to qualified candidates and prepares students for a career in Precision Machining while also earning National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) industry-recognized credentials. Occupational skill building and workplace employability skills are also included in the curriculum. | |
