Job Description

RRD is seeking and experienced and dynamic Operations Manager for our Plover, WI facility!

Under general direction or working independently, plans, directs, and manages the activities and personnel engaged in facility operations by developing and implementing strategies to manage departmental operations; developing a operations staff of first line supervisors; developing and implementing strategies to manage the delivery of operations services that exceed customer expectations with minimal shrinkage; developing support operations business cases for new mission changes, supporting equipment and personnel; managing operations budgets and contributing to the total team effort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the overall planning, scheduling and completion of work required to support all manufacturing activities in compliance with all regulatory and ISO requirements in a cost effective manner and in accordance with planned budget.
  • Lead, coach, mentor and inspire others to achieve optimum results by demonstrating role model behavior on a consistent basis in all that is said and done.
  • Develop and implement strategies to manage departmental operations by initiating reviews of facility internal and external processes, identifying problem areas and establishing action plans for improvement; directing reviews of all operations procedures to ensure maximum ability to meet and exceed customer needs with minimal shrinkage.
  • Develop facility operations supporting equipment and personnel by evaluating new customer requirements and assess ability to support; determine additional facility operations needs
  • Contribute to team effort by leading intra-departmental teams in review of processes to improve facility operations functions; proactively seeking customer requirements and comments on quality of service; creating a process to ensure employee concerns are addressed; ensuring the fair application of company policies; treating employees with respect; being an advocate for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the materials management process.
  • Develop facility operations staff of first line supervisors by hiring, training, coaching, and evaluating the performance of all the direct reporting supervisors for departmental operations; reviewing supervisor and employee training needs and budgeting for personnel training; holding supervisors accountable for understanding and applying company employment policies fairly; supporting diversity in the work-force.
  • Coordinate activities with departments such as Information Technology, Finance, Support Services, Human Resources, Quality Management and Materials Management to affect operational efficiency and economy.
  • Oversee and supervise Facilities/Safety Manager, Industrial Engineer, Lead Lean Expert, Production Manager, and Warehouse Supervisor positions.
  • Analyze division or department budget requests to identify areas in which reductions can be made, and
  • Ensure that all aspects of the Quality Policy and Objectives are understood and enacted.
  • Issue monthly reports in a timely manner summarizing facility operations activity and status.
  • Conduct staff meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Participate in the annual Management Resource Planning (MRP) process. Develop, communicate and maintain appropriate career development plans for all direct reports.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management representatives within the scope of responsibility and the requirements of the job.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics,or a relevant field required OR 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Medical Device manufacturing or supply chain operations management experience strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing, Lean Thinking Principles / Six Sigma, Finance and Planning experience a plus.
  • Experience of operating in an automated high speed manufacturing environment
  • Experience of operating in an FDA, ISO 13485 environment is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques experience.
  • Experience with strategic planning and implementation.
  • Experience dealing with government regulations related to logistics.
  • Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed;
  • Knowledge of facility operations supply chain management systems and capable of learning how such automated systems function;
  • Knowledge of facility operations supply chain management planning techniques; Knowledge of budgeting methods and systems;
  • Knowledge of leadership, managerial, and supervisory techniques and principles; Skill in performing detailed work in an accurate and organized manner;
  • Strong Continuous Improvement experience, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt preferred.
  • Excellent Financial Acumen.
  • Skill in effective oral and/or written communication;
  • Skill in conflict resolution
  • Ability to communicate well with employees at all levels of responsibility.

Additional Information

Thenational pay range for this role is $88,100 to $141,000 / year. The payrange may beslightly lower or higher based on the geographic location of the hired employee. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
