About the Position:

Utilizing independent judgement, the Logistics and Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for scheduling shipments, coordinating external services, and overseeing flow of material in the downstream supply chain. This position reports to the Manager - Production, Planning and Logistics

What You'll Do:



  • Creates Bills of Lading and schedules truck and rail shipments
  • Coordinates carrier rates and performance data.
  • Supports sales efforts for consistent product delivery to EQS and ENS customers.
  • Provides back up to the EQS and ENS Logistics/Shipping Coordinators, as needed.
  • Orders rail cars based on forecasted demand and expedites rail shipments including tracking of inbound and outbound railcars.
  • Schedules the return of conversion material, claims, and miscellaneous materials that need returned to EQS or ENS.
  • Issues outside service purchase orders, updates job routings, and communicates changes to vendors as needed.
  • Coordinates with outside service vendors to schedule incoming and outgoing loads.
  • Assists with scheduling EQS melt and prioritizing internal work centers to meet due date requirements.
  • Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
  • Must have ability and desire to work well with others.
  • Meets attendance requirements.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary.


What You'll Need:



  • High school diploma or G.E.D.; Associates Degree in Business preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a Manufacturing/Shipping environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.


  • Good computer skills with proficiency - Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) preferred.
  • Ability to work with personnel at all levels of the organization
  • Strong work ethic

    Education
    High School of General Studies (required)
    Experience
    2 years: Experience in Manufacturing/Shipping environment. Good computer skills with proficiency - Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) prefrred. (preferred)
