Who We Are Looking For:

Atkore's Shared Services team is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to perform a variety of accounts payable duties, ensuring that all financial data is recorded in accordance with and consistent with all generally accepted account principles, SOX requirements, and Atkore policies and procedures.

What You'll Do:



  • Identify, analyze, rectify & process all accounts payable transactions via three-way match process for the Atkore businesses assigned using Basware and JDE Systems
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Acts as a liaison between Corporate and business unit accounting departments for A/P inquiries
  • Answers all vendor inquires, including any follow up on vendor statements
  • Assist the Accounts Payable Manager, as needed
  • Distributes signed checks as required
  • Prepares analysis of accounts as required
  • Performs other duties as assigned

What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting preferred, or equivalent education and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of procurement/accounting experience in a multi-facility environment required; Basware, JDE or another ERP experience a plus
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills; good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook strongly preferred
  • Ability to handle high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Self-starter and problem solver


Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Complete your Atkore immersion program
  • Understand how your job will help deliver Atkore's strategy
  • Gain an understanding of your role, the A/P department, and the organization you support; perform A/P transaction in system with help


Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Gain an understanding of the systems and software used in Accounts Payable
  • Take full responsibility for your designated Accounts Payable segment
  • Process invoices, Review Statements, and build & sustain positive relationships with suppliers


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Be subject matter expert in your processes and procedures
  • Be able to provide suggestions for process improvements
  • Be able to take on more responsibilities as needed

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $45,120 - $62,040. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
