Position summary:

The Team Leader RCA Tufting is responsible for the overall operations of the Tufting process at RCA. He/she will coordinate the flow of

activities to meet production and quality objectives for the Tufting department, oversee the delivery of all raw materials to the Tufting

department, and ensure correct reporting and documentation of machine activities. This position is responsible for the direction of the

associates assigned to the tufting process.

Educational requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • College or vocational school preferred

Skills and experience:

  • Tufting experience required

  • Previous leadership experience required

  • Good communication skills, verbal and written

  • Demonstrated ability to multitask

  • Must have normal color vision or average to above average shade discernment

  • Interface White Belt and 6S Training preferred

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Basic Computer skills; familiar with Microsoft Office, Lotus notes and AS/400

Essential duties:

  • Plan and coordinate personnel activities for the RCA Tufting operation and assign duties

  • Plan and schedule the flow of products for each Tufter.

  • Partner with the RCA and Kyle Planning/Scheduling department to plan the flow of orders through the RCA facility

  • Work with other department Supervisors and /or

  • Schedule the logistics of all raw materials including the yarn delivery to and from RCA

  • Work with and follow management direction to achieve departmental goal and

  • Leaders to coordinate orders by promise dates

  • Ensure carpet meets specification requirements

  • objectives Continuously monitor quality of carpet and approve quality for all orders

  • Ensure raw materials are supplied to machines as needed

  • Deposit all carpet scrap and other recycled materials in its proper place

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment

  • Give direction to RCA associates

  • Perform and understand all yarn thread ups and yarn creel arrangements

  • Operate all Tufting machine types, including set up and weight checks

  • Fully understand and perform Supervisorsduties

  • Maintain housekeeping

  • Perform 6S audits and assignments

  • Perform Critical Risk surveys

  • Comply with safety rules

  • Comply with environmental regulations

  • Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

  • Willingness to learn and understand Interface's commitment to sustainability

  • Ensure ISO procedures are followed.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Occasional overtime will be required
