POSITION SUMMARY: The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Supply Chain Operations provides enterprise leadership for healthcare supply chain operations, partnering with market supply chain leaders to drive consistent execution, performance, and continuous improvement. This role is responsible for setting operational direction, deploying standardized supply chain capabilities, and enabling market teams to execute inventory, distribution, sourcing, and operational improvement initiatives aligned with organizational strategy. The AVP serves as a key connector between corporate strategy and market execution, ensuring supply chain programs are effectively implemented, performance is measured, and improvement opportunities are identified and addressed.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership and oversight for inventory management, distribution, and supply chain operations across markets to promote consistency and operational effectiveness.
- Leads the execution of enterprise supply chain infrastructure and capability initiatives, including standardization of core supply chain processes and systems.
- Partners with sourcing and clinical teams to support the implementation of organization-wide purchasing initiatives at the corporate and market levels.
- Supports, coaches, and evaluates market Supply Chain Directors and Managers to enable strong local execution aligned with corporate priorities.
- Fosters a collaborative, development-focused environment that strengthens supply chain leadership capabilities and solution delivery.
- Identifies, escalates, and resolves supply chain risks, issues, and improvement opportunities using established performance platforms and governance processes.
- Leads cross-functional efforts to enable supply chain improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment across operations, finance, clinical, and IT partners.
- Manages enterprise supply chain implementation plans, including identifying and mitigating risks, leveraging lessons learned, communicating progress, and monitoring resource allocation.
- Oversees supply chain performance measurement and reporting, translating insights into actionable recommendations for corporate and market leadership.
- Promotes and supports continuous improvement methodologies to enhance supply chain efficiency, service, and cost performance.
- Encourages knowledge capture and information sharing to support best practice adoption and organizational learning across markets.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Healthcare Administration, Finance
- Additional years of experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
- 5+ years hospital management experience.
- Multi-facility experience.
- Master's degree, preferred.
