KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Acquire quality blood samples through various phlebotomy techniques for patients across all age groups. - Ensure accurate patient identification, quality specimen labeling, processing, handling, and transportation of specimens. - Assist in the recovery of patients experiencing adverse reactions and provide rapid response to medical emergencies in the inpatient setting. - Communicate effectively with patients and patient care teams, explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a high level of customer happiness. - Manage sharps and biohazardous materials following regulatory guidelines to protect the safety of patients and staff. - Work fluently with computer programs and systems, and align with HIPAA regulations. - Perform other test administration and specimen collection as assigned. Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Licenses and Credentials Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Experience No experience required Completion of a phlebotomy course preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Demonstrates proficiency in proper collection methods and proper processing of all specimens, including correct tube selection, volume, and stability requirements. - Possesses good written and oral communication skills, the ability to prioritize work, manage time wisely, and adjust to changes in work volumes and projects. - Superior customer service skills, with the ability to show empathy and respect for patients' privacy and autonomy. - Works independently and collaborates effectively within a team, actively partnering with team members by fostering an inclusive work environment and respecting individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
