As a Consumer Sensory Insights Leader, you will manage and conduct day to day activities with sensory panels, gather and analyze results, and provide insights for the development of new flavours and taste solutions according to overall business objectives.

Reports to Sensory Lab Manager

Your Location Cincinnati, Ohio

You Will

  • Moderate and develop training for groups of tasters to capture sensory information. Facilitate discussion and lead a Sensory Panel through descriptive analysis methodologies to capture sensory information.
  • Maintain quality and motivation of panelists by monitoring performance and building a teaching approach to training.
  • Plan and execute the training panel including pre-screen products, determine number of sessions needed, advise on product evaluation, prepare computer designs.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sensory testing. Create and enter information in sensory systems.
  • Develop new protocols for evaluations to answer sensory testing objectives and contribute to development of new sensory methods and state-of the-art technologies.
  • Prepare and maintain samples of reference materials for all panels and maintain flavor language libraries working together with Flavor Creation and Application teams.
  • Collaborate with the sensory team to improve the efficiency of sensory support. Work with applications teams to coordinate preparation of products and validate products for sensory testing.
  • Conduct standard statistical analysis, interpret results, write top-line reports and provide results to internal customers.

Your Professional Profile Includes

  • Degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Psychology, Teaching, Data Science, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in industry with relevant technical expertise
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to effectively facilitate a group discussion.
  • Sound data analysis skills with proven data interpretation knowledge
  • Relevant software experiences (Compusense, XLSTAT, etc).
  • Analysis skills in research or product development environments.
  • Effective written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to share insights clearly.
  • Exhibit a growth mindset and nimble learning
  • Fluency in English and proficiency in relevant computer and statistical tools.
