Job Summary:

This position supports internal communications for UNC Hospitals and UNC Health. This role will focus on internal messaging that informs, engages and recognizes teammates. Reports to UNC Health's Internal Communications team to align with overall communications strategy.

Description of Job Responsibilities:

• Write content and execute communications strategies for teammates delivered through newsletters, intranet articles, digital signage, screen savers, and more.
• Develop an understanding of the organization and needs of our teammates. Apply that knowledge when thinking creatively to problem-solve or devise new communications strategies to achieve communications goals.
• Collaborate with hospital and system departments (i.e., Employee Engagement, Human Resources) to highlight teammate engagement, recognition, initiatives and events.
• Provide communications support for hospital leadership that reflects UNC Health's mission and values.
• Work closely with Internal Communications teammates to ensure important or timely information is shared appropriately across UNC Hospitals and UNC Health.
• Collaborate with hospital and health system teammates and leaders to develop communications plans of varying scope.
• Assist with drafting and managing crisis or timely communications. Implement broader hospital and health care system communications plans as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Other information:
Education Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, Science or related field.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* Three (3) year of experience in communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of new media technologies and trends required.
• Excellent writing and communication skills, with a particular focus on writing for the web and/or intranet required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills required.
• Excellent organizational and project coordination skills required.
• Demonstrate problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with content management systems, HTML, and print and image editing preferred.
• Experience in video and photo content creation preferred.
• Familiarity with SharePoint and Adobe tools preferred.
