The University of California Health Milk Bank was established to help support neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and families in the region. They do this by providing safe, pasteurized human milk that has been donated by breastfeeding parents. The UC Health Milk Bank, operated by UC San Diego Health, is the second in California to be accredited by the Human Milk Banking Association of North America. It is the only milk bank in the nation that is part of a health care system.This position is for our UC Health Milk Bank that opened in 2020. Our goals are to help mothers breastfeed, to improve breast milk donation and to ensure that all premature or ill babies in our region have access to donor milk. Under general supervision, the Outreach & Communications Coordinator supports the UC Health Milk Bank's efforts to expand community awareness, increase donor engagement, and strengthen external partnerships. Responsibilities include coordinating outreach activities, supporting marketing content development, assisting with events, conducting basic outreach research, maintaining contact databases, and providing administrative support to communications and donor engagement functions. This position serves as a front-line representative of the Milk Bank in the community, interacting with families, healthcare providers, and partner organizations while ensuring a high level of service, professionalism, and accuracy. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $61,429 - $88,030 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $29.42 - $42.16 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position.
