Software Verification Engineer I *Location:* St. Paul, MN (Onsite)
*Duration:* 6month contract (extensions and conversion possible) *Experience Level:* Entry Level Role Overview A global medical device organization is seeking a *Software Verification Engineer I* to join its Software Verification team supporting a realtime cardiac mapping and ablation system. This role focuses on ensuring software performs safely, accurately, and reliably in a highly regulated medical device environment. This is an excellent entrylevel opportunity for recent graduates or earlycareer engineers looking to gain handson experience in medical device software verification. The role includes structured onboarding, mentorship, and strong potential for contract extension and fulltime conversion based on performance and business needs. What You'll Be Doing * Plan, write, execute, and document *manual software test cases* in compliance with internal procedures and FDA/ISO standards * Analyze system and software requirements to design effective test strategies and test suites * Execute dry runs and formal *Verification & Validation (V&V)* activities * Identify, document, track, and support resolution of software defects * Configure and maintain test equipment and environments (mapping systems, monitors, amplifiers, RF generators) * Participate in requirements, design, and test reviews to ensure traceability and quality * Collaborate crossfunctionally with software, systems, and quality teams Training & RampUp * *First 4 weeks:* Structured training, selfpaced learning, and shadowing * *By 90 days:* Strong understanding of the application and independent test execution * Longer term exposure to test development and automation as the team evolves Required Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in *Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering*, or equivalent (required) * 0-2 years of experience (recent graduates encouraged to apply) * Foundational understanding of software testing principles and methodologies * Strong attention to detail, documentation, and problemsolving skills * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Willingness to learn and adapt in a regulated environment Nice to Have * Python coursework or 1-2 years of handson experience * Exposure to medical device or regulated software environments Work Environment * Onsite, collaborative engineering environment * Regulated medical device development setting * Oneonone mentorship with senior team members * Highly collaborative culture across engineering, quality, and regulatory teams Why This Role? * Handson experience supporting lifecritical medical device software * Structured training and strong mentorship * Opportunity to grow technical and regulatory skills * High potential for contract extension and fulltime conversion *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of St Paul, MN. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
